Vice Chair - Agnes



Agnes is a Tanzanian female entrepreneur.

Vicechairperson Of TASOTA, Secretary for AWOTTA (Association for Women in Toursim Tanzania), member of the International Women Association Group, member of the Association of Women in Business Africa.

Education: a degree in Commercial and Business Administration from University of Clemont –Ferrand France.


  • Euro-control (a European air traffic management organization) for three years as administrator;
  • UN-intech – an academic research centre in the Netherlands; 4 years as a research assistant;
  • Medtronic an American Medical Research Company in the Netherlands – 10 years as study assistant (Researcher).

Fluent in Swahili, English, French and Dutch. Married with two adult sons. 

Hon.Secretary - Shamim



Shamim had been part of the board of Trustees and is now a Committee Member.

She has diligently served TASOTA for several years with zeal, fervor and passion and has always been a great Team Player with TASOTA’s benefit in mind.

She has been a positively great personality with tremendous energy.

Treasurer - Haridatt



Mr. Patel has in the past served as TRUSTEE of TASOTA and we are very excited to have him on board as our newest member to the Executive Committee. 

He has over 20 years of overall and detailed based experience in the Travel Industry Business. 




Akil is and has been a dedicated, passionate and zealous TASOTA Committee Member for many years.

He brings his experience to a working mode to interact and guide the Executive Committee in a positive and mutually beneficial mode for the Society at large.

EC2 - Musharaf



Musharaf is an energetic personality focused on Media, Marketing and Strategic Brand Development with a passion for cutting edge technology.

As a graduate of the MBA program from the European Business School London, he has used his experience to focus on Strategy, Marketing and Operational Workflow optimization in his various endeavors.

As a Committee Member of TASOTA, he brings new ideas and implementation strategies to the table, paving the way forward for the Travel Industry.

EC3 - Pooja



Pooja has been in the travel industry since 2002 and has worked with building relationships with suppliers on both the leisure and travel side of the industry.

With her Hon degree from EBS London she has used her training and knowledge to build experience and empower others within the industry to encourage transparency, integrity and business ethics within.

She believes that through the right training and communication, anything is possible and growth together with healthy competition can be obtained.

Her role thus far in TASOTA has been positively challenging. She tries to ensure that knowledge is shared through workshops and constructive dialogue. The workshops and meetings centre around how to better the industry and business practices within. “We all have the ability to empower people with knowledge and positivity”.

Mohamed Takim Photo



Mohamed Takim was instrumental in reviving TASOTA in 1993 after it was dormant for several years.

· 1993 Vice- chairman upon election of the Executive Committee of the revived Society;

· 1995 Chairman of TASOTA;

· 1996- to-date : Trustee;

· 1996- 2014: Member of an East African APJC (Airline-Agency Joint Council ) representing TASOTA; Chairman of APJC for several years from late 1990’s every alternate year when it was the turn of Travel Agents to chair the Council;

· 2000: Chairman of Tourism Confederation of Tanzania for 4 years (An apex body of all Tourism Associations in Tanzania) representing TASOTA;

· 2014: to-date: Treasurer of TCT representing TASOTA.

Aileen Mhagama - Website photo



Aileen has been a dedicated member of TASOTA and now serves as a Trustee since 2022. 

Having worked in the hospitality industry for more than 15 years, most of which were in 5-star hotels in Dar Es Salaam, Aileen gained an immense experience in sales and customer service which were the areas of her specialization.  She is excellent in networking, creating, building and maintaining customer relationship. Her social skills has braced onto and around her many friends from all walks of life that emerged throughout her childhood to professional lifecycle. It is not uncommon to hear people calling her “people’s lady”.

As a child, Aileen wanted to be a Lawyer but destiny drove her to Osmania University in India where she graduated with a first class bachelor’s degree in Hotel Management & Catering Technology. It was at this point that she realized she has passion for customer service delivery.

In 2014, she decided to venture into Travel Industry and founded Aija Travel where she is the Managing Director & CEO.



 Zaitun has been serving on the TASOTA board since June, 2022.
