Africa Travel Week has added a new category to their Travel & Tourism Awards aptly called ‘Reigniting Africa’, to acknowledge the most impactful, story-driven COVID-19 campaign of 2020.
The award will also recognise those in the African travel and tourism sector who have worked valiantly to address the various impacts of COVID-19, using their resources and facilities to keep their audience connected and engaged throughout these trying times.
Innovative, original and creative campaigns actioned from 01 March 2020, to 31 January 2021 addressing the COVID-19 pandemic will be considered.
The consumer or trade campaign must bring Africa to life, giving viewers a taste of the destination’s culture, natural beauty, history and vibrancy. The judges will examine various components of the campaign, including:
- How it was implemented based on the initial plan
- Proof of how the campaign reached its objectives
- Testimonials from independent parties or clients regarding the campaign’s effectiveness
Submissions will be judged by an independent panel of industry experts with the criteria focusing on tone, visibility, messaging, and brand perception. You can view the full requirements here.
